My name is Jovithe (Jovi) Hatungimana originally from Burundi and I am thrilled to have joined
Trinity UMC as your new supply Pastor. Sharing Christ through servant leadership daily is my
passion and calling. I hold a Master of Divinity from Drew Theological school in Madison, New
Jersey (May 2026), a Bachelor of science in Economics from Africa University in Zimbabwe
(July 2021) and a diploma in Management in Burundi (August 2014). As the seventh of nine
siblings, I was raised in Burundi where my faith was first nurtured at a young age. As of now, my
parents still live in Burundi, while other siblings reside in different countries around the world.
Before joining Trinity, I served as a Student Associate Pastor, directing youth and young adults’
ministries at Park UMC of Bloomfield, NJ (2025). Prior to that, I had served as a clergy intern at
South Orange-Vailsburg UMC, NJ (2024), Greater New Jersey Annual Conference. My path in
ministry is guided by a commitment to faith, outreach, community engagement and justice.
Personal interests include listening to Gospel music, reading, spending time with family and
friends and nature walks. I am grateful for the warm welcome into the loving Trinity church
family and look forward to growing in faith together, serving alongside you, and discovering all
that God has in store for us.
